Stocking Success
On Friday I taught a Christmas Stocking class at Chertsey Museum - fourteen people joined the class and made some fab stockings, just wish I'd managed to get more photos before people packed up!

More Mug Caddies
I made mug caddies with the evening ladies at Chertsey a while ago, but this week it was the turn of the afternoon ladies!
They don't look much like a mug caddy yet, but they will do soon! Click here to see some completed ones, and for the instructions

Bye Bye Broom Farm
Sadly this week saw the last of the autumn Broom Farm sessions. Officially titled Make Do and Mend, we had a variety of project going on: A quilt from baby clothes, a purse, two Christmas stockings, a Christmas decoration, a bias pleated chiffon dress being made from a pattern ,and a feathered evening dress that needed taking up - no pressure there at all then!
Anyway, it was a fab two hours and hopefully they've all gone home with enough knowledge to finish 9or at least get a bit further) on their projects

Mug Caddies
We made mug, or craft, caddies at Chertsey's evening Fun With Fabric in October: It took us a bit of time with some of the instructions, but everyone got a long way into theirs , and all were confident they could finish off at home:
Some even give an indication of the finished item!

Kids' Crafty Church
This weekend just gone was Kids' Crafty Church: From a random assortment of resources they came up with some great ideas: innovative ones as well as some traditional ones!
Little people always seem to love gluing!
Learning to kit
Teaching me how to use loom bands
yay for stickers
Chains from half straws, taking advantage of the bendy section
A new version of bunting (using the other half of the straws)
sewing and sizzix!
The next one is the Saturday before Christmas - I'm already looking forward to it!

Back at Broom Farm
Oh I've missed teaching at Broom Farm! It was lovely to be back today!
We've shaken up the classes a bit, and have planned a number of one off workshops - starting today with recycling and reusing a pair of jeans
We had great fun - and the girls made some fab denim pots
And slippers!

Paint & Paper
Yesterday's session at Chertsey museum took me a little out of my comfort zone - I like to work with fabric and needle and thread, but we were using paper and paint and paintbrushes!
I bought some transfer paints at a quilt show earlier in the year: you paint on paper then iron the image onto polyester and the image transfers, but much brighter colours.
We had some fab results, but the most stunning was this tiger.
Stephanie used a printed colouring page ( from google) and pretty much painted the whole tiger orange, planning to add the stripes later with embroidery thread, but the paint didn't transfer from the black areas so the detail transferred too.
