Plenty of Pin Cushions

Today was a bit of a free for all, (nothing to do with me not having done much planning). I took along some pin cushions I'd made or been given, and all the usual resources, and they set to making pin cushions

Turtles (instructions below)

Flowers

A bird (no photo, will grab one at show and tell next month)

Thumb pin cushions

And a fish with added needle case!

We also had our usual Show & Tell: two scarves which I didn't photograph, and a button necklace

Creative Community

We had Kids' Crafty Church this afternoon - a great turn out, and a lovely afternoon.

Craft, creating, making - how ever you think of it, Art is very therapeutic, and we all needed it after the rain, storms, flooding and evacuation that we have experienced this last week.

"Without ART, EARTH is just EH"

I think I managed to get all the fab artistic creations on camera

Sewing . . .

Beading

And Hema beading

Fun with pipecleaners and pompoms

Card making

and lots of cards thanking the soldiers for saving our villages

And we even got the mums being creative too

A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!!!!

So Long, School Sewing

The Wednesday night sewing club at school has now come to an end, but I thought I'd show you some of the projects the ladies will continue to work on

Tara did some work on this bucket for her knitting

And Tracey brought in some fabrics she created some years ago for A'level textiles. She took them all off the display board and we fitted them together
.
I especially liked these steam punk wheel prints

and these hand prints

Sadly the course is finished, but I hope they will keep in touch and let me know how their projects finish

Sewing at School

Sadly we only have one more session of the evening sewing club at school

But there are some fab finished projects (Tara's bag, and Tracy's tooth pillow),

some nearly finished projects (Kate's quilt)

and an 'I know what I'm doing' project (Tara's umbrella appliqué / embroidery)

so we're all doing well

(Also an "I want to make of of those" projects - Kate's cactus pincushion)

Held in place, not by glue, but a button
