The school where I work wanted to make something to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this year, and after lots of thinking, we started today!
We have 26 family groups interested, and have allocated a letter to each family. They are going to make a 10 inch block showing an icon of Windsor representing "their" letter!
For our first session, today, we started with 5 families, and used lots of felt, much of which was kindly donated by Daniel's, the Windsor department store, and we had two helpers, kindly donated by Legoland Windsor
Two families escaped before I managed to photograph their creations, but here we have
D for Diamond Jubilee
X for AleXandra Gardens (which hosts the Windsor wheel)
And C for Copper Horse and Castle
Thanks to our two Legoland volunteers - we hope you can come back!
This project is supported by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead's Family and Community Learning scheme.
