Brilliant Bunnies

Easter making at Chertsey Museum HAD to include bunnies!  I found instructions on Pinterest for folding a square of fleece or a face cloth - add an elastic band, a pompom and a few buttons and you have a bunny

Or in today's case - a whole load of bunnies!

And some even got carry baskets!

Museum Making

I ran a Fabric Postcard session on Tuesday at Chertsey Museum: Based on bookings, on Monday we expected two children - by lunchtime on Tuesday we were expecting 9, and in the end we had 10!!!

And look how creative they were

We even managed some sewing this time, not just glue!!!

Kids' Crafts at Chertsey Museum

Today's craft at Chertsey Museum was Junk Weaving Wall Art.  We started with a shoe box lid, and cut small V notches in both short ends (same number in each, generally 7, 8 or 9) and wound string or wool around them, settling in each notch, then knotting at the back.

This created our warp, then we hit the junk table to create the weft . . .

Some amazing ideas, and great art, all from junk . . . and I caught some mums enjoying themselves too!

As an extension project, we also, as a group, started a woven t-shirt floor mat: see here for instructions
